PRIVACY ALERT FOR REALTY AGENCIES, REALTORS, AND PRIVATE CLIENTS
CLIENT EMAIL AND TELEPHONE PRIVACY ALERT:
Posted To Our Fellow Realty Agencies, Realtors, Website Builders!, and Investor Clients.
Please be careful TO ASK "WHERE YOUR EMAIL IS STORED"
WITH YOUR SPECIAL REALTY AGENCY COMPANIES,
based on the following example of what happened to our Luxury Director today, 2/27/2015.
Please do NOT PUT CLIENT EMAILS into the backend of Realty Company Websites,
that somehow allows GOOGLE to accidentally reveal "Private Client Email Lists,
including phone numbers" to the Global Public World.
Here is what happened to our Luxury Director on 2/27/2015.
Our Luxury Director received an email from a small "Company" professional.
She decided to learn more about the potential "cooperative"; as pertains to the nature of this business man's character and business dealings.
The Luxury Director wishes to be a bit careful with WHOM our company cooperates and provides links to...
Upon entering the professional gentleman's email -
through the EXPLORER BROWSER
into a GOOGLE SEARCH BAR....
The Google Search provided its usual links to websites,
at the TOP of the page which said "REALTY COMPANY" / emails with the professional name she was searching to learn more of;
Without realizing what the link was about,
but again, simply that it represented the "professional" having some kind of connection to XYZ Company,
she clicked on it.
She found herself staring at a wide open database of 1313 Clients (Page 1 of many)
with an easy to find and click "DOWNLOAD BUTTON" AT THE TOP of what appeared to be a Private Client List of emails and phone numbers; linked to what appeared to be a REALTY AGENCY'S WEBSITE.
She contacted the REALTY COMPANY of the Private Client Data BREACH.
They promised to call thier WEB BUILDER immediate and protect this PRIVATE "CLIENT" LIST of EMAILS and PHONE #s.
But it made Our Company REALIZE that some REALTY COMPANY'S
may be trusting Web Site Builders to secure thier PRIVATE CLIENT EMAILS
within thier website systems. And this is fine, except,
it appears that SEARCH ENGINES display the backend too?
This storing of client names within the Business Web Site appears
to be dangerous potential breach of privacy and security for both REALTY AGENCY and SPECIAL CLIENTS.
LET'S all work together!
To keep all private clients safe from any ONLINE INDIVIDUALS,
who do NOT OWN that data.
And if YOUR SYSTEMS are secure we appreciate this;
but don't be afraid to help another who does not realize,
what might be dangerous or a problem for the Realty Agency AND the Private Clients.
Someday, you may have "something significant" go slightly awry,
and we believe that you would want the same kindness from a respectful competitor,
to NOT STEAL all your client names or business secrets;
or LEAVE YOU EXPOSED TO THE WORLD for theft.
Please take TIME to describe the potential HOLES in WEB TECHNOLOGIES
as accessed by all Search Engines; and the global world.
The WORLD of DATA STORAGE AND WEB TECHOLOGIES IS CHANGING.
Let's try to support, preserve, and help "each other" remain safe, secure, and sure in our Realty Practices.
